Hi, I'm Kareen Erbe.
I’m a cold climate gardener, permaculture educator, design consultant and owner of Broken Ground. I help people in cold climates grow their own food so they can cultivate more resilience. I’ve taught thousands of people through my workshops, both live and online, and have consulted with aspiring gardeners and homesteaders for almost a decade.
Whether you have a small backyard and you're new to gardening or you're working on developing an integrated homestead, I'm here to help you on your journey.
Of course, one of the most important elements to your success as a gardener are pollinators. Without them, vegetable gardens and orchards aren't possible.
It’s no wonder that attracting them to your garden is so important.
Not only that, but pollinators need your help!
The decline of honey bees, native bees, and butterflies is on the rise. Anything you can do to help create healthy ecosystems is a step in the right direction. Attracting pollinators can increase the yields in your garden while enhancing and beautifying your outdoor space. It's a win-win, for you and the bees!
