If you can't make it for the full Permaculture Design Course, we have three different options for you:

One-day option

Come check out the Permaculture Design Course for one day! If you have a budding interest in permaculture and want to see what it's all about, we are opening the course to anyone who would like to drop in for a day between June 16 and 21. Day rate is $150. To register, fill out the form below and specify the date you are interested in attending.

Here are the topics we will be covering:
June 17 - Introduction to Permaculture, Patterns in Nature, Design Methods and Process
June 18 - Climate, Social Systems and Soil
July 18 - Water, Earthworks, Bioremediation
July 19 - Food Forests, Animal Systems, Soil Carbon Sequestration
July 20 - Urban/Suburban Permaculture, Greywater Systems, Natural Building and Passive Solar Design
July 21 - Regenerative Agriculture, Farming Enterprises, Keyline Cultivation

3 Days with Penny Livingston-Stark (Regenerative Design Institute)

Picture
Internationally renowned permaculture teacher, Penny Livingston-Stark has worked professionally in the land management, regenerative design, and permaculture development field for 25 years and holds a MS in Eco-Social Regeneration. She specializes in site planning and the design of resource-rich landscapes integrating rainwater collection, edible and medicinal planting, spring development, pond and water systems, habitat development and watershed restoration. Immerse yourself with Penny over a 3 intensive days (July 18-20, 2016), developing water capture and retention systems skills and understanding the process of intentional cultivation of ecological systems.

TOPICS COVERED INCLUDE:
Earthworks - Earthworks are a vital aspect of designing, farming, and living within a ecologically resilient context. During this course, participants will learn about capturing, holding, and dispersing water in a landscape using everything from swales to Keyline cultivation for broad acreage.

Greywater Systems -Participants will help design, build, and install an effective home greywater system for the farmhand house and outdoor kitchen using inexpensive and readily available materials.

Cultivated Ecologies- “Permaculture is based on the observation of natural systems, the wisdom contained in traditional farming systems, and modern scientific and technological knowledge. Although based on good ecological models, permaculture creates a cultivated ecology, which is designed to produce more human and animal food than is generally found in nature.” Bill Mollison

COURSE FEE - $375 for 3-days.  Childcare is available. The course fee includes instruction, camping accommodations, 3 meals/day, course handouts, and transportation to surrounding permaculture sites. Childcare is subsidized, but there may be a nominal fee depending on the demand. You can pay this fee via paypal (click button below) or by sending a check, payable to 'Inside Edge Design' and mail to 1024 11th Avenue, Helena, MT 59601.

4 Day Regenerative Systems Intensive with Penny Livingston-Stark, Cloud Nine Farm and ABC Acres

Picture
Our 4-Day Regenerative Systems Intensive (July 18-21, 2016) gets you closer to your Permaculture Design Certification (ask us about this!) and builds your skills in water capture, retention, and utilization in your garden or farm-scale system, small and large animal management within a permaculture farm, design and implementation of edible forest systems and much more!

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:

Managing Animals in Regenerative Systems - Pursuing a Holistic approach to animal management ensures healthy, disease-free animals, along with increased yields in your plant systems. Learn the specifics from farmers at Cloud Nine Farm and ABC acres!

Earth Works for Home- and Farm-scale - Appropriate earthworks can help build new soil, create microclimates, and capture water. This course will teach you how to conceptualize what will work for you in your specific context. This is not a one size fits all situation!

Better than Organic BBQ at Cloud Nine Farm -
Our final day includes a farm tour with Alison Rooney, owner and operator of Cloud Nine Farm, along with a celebratory evening BBQ to close our experience together, with local organic pastured meat! Yummy!

COURSE FEE - $475 for 4-days.
