Transform your land and your life...

PERMACULTURE DESIGN WORKSHOP
Saturday, April 4, 9am-4pm
Blunderbuss, 5360 Love Lane, Bozeman
Cost: $65 -$85 sliding scale

NOTE: DUE TO THE SPREAD OF COVID-19 IN OUR COMMUNITY AND THE RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE GALLATIN HEALTH DEPARTMENT, THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. If you're interested in learning more about permaculture, please tune into my online class here.

Broken Ground, in coordination with Blunderbuss, is proud to offer a day devoted to sustainability. Join Broken Ground founder Kareen Erbe, and Tate Chamberlin, of Blunderbuss, for a workshop covering the fundamentals of  permaculture design.

Permaculture is a design approach for sustainable living and land use that is rooted in the observation of natural systems. By combining traditional knowledge with modern science, Permaculture provides a set of ethics and principles that teach us how to grow our own food and medicine, build natural homes, catch rainwater, harness energy, restore degraded landscapes, and build communities.

The morning will be spent learning about how to design properties using permaculture principles.  After a potluck lunch, groups will put their new-found knowledge into practice by designing a master plan for the three-acre Blunderbuss property. Participants will walk away with the knowledge to implement these same practices on their own site.

Blunderbuss is a long term hostel, maker space, and studio for risk takers in Bozeman, Montana. It is committed to doing its part in realizing the United Nations' goals for sustainable development by 2030. These goals include: no poverty; zero hunger; good health and well-being; quality education; gender equality; clean water and sanitation; affordable and clean energy; decent work and economic growth; industry, innovation and infrastructure; reduced inequalities; sustainable cities and communities; responsible consumption and production; climate action; life below water; life on land; peace, justice, and strong institutions; and partnerships. Blunderbuss welcomes community vision and perspective in developing an insightful and progressive master plan toward that end.

Please join us for this fun, enlightening and formative event in our efforts toward aligning Broken Ground, and Blunderbuss’ mission and actions with sustainable principles in this community and beyond. The event will take place at Blunderbuss, rain or shine.

Cost for this event is $65 to $85 sliding scale. We encourage those who can afford it to pay the Benefactor price, as your funds will go towards supporting those who might otherwise be unable to attend.

Testimonials
"What a great introduction to the underpinnings of permaculture along with hands on, go-home-and-use information to shape your own garden." - MP

"This was an incredible class. The information was clear, questions got the time they needed and some hands-on application was provided, I would recommend for anyone." - JB

"I love learning from Kareen because she knows her stuff, teaches with warm enthusiasm and engages me in new ideas. She really cares about permaculture principles and  the best ways for us to coexist sustainably."  - SH

"Though I grew up in gardens, and have made several myself, I came away from the Permaculture Design Series with an energizing way of looking at not just gardens, but the whole property. I had been putting some of the pieces together over the years, purely by chance, but now I understand much better how to deliberately design garden spaces that are healthier and a lot less work for me. " - GJ
